Urgent: Missing Components

If you check the example page above, you'll see some products have selectable components, some haven't. They should ALL have selectable components. I'm not sure at what point the components vanished, but it's happened recently and I've only just noticed. S'not a template issue as those products that DO show their components use the exact same templates - all set to inherit. Every product is setup identically... reference numbers are all unique...

The screencap below shows the actinic product tree. I've gone thru every product and can't see anything wrong anywhere, nor have I changed anything recently that I can think would cause this...



The problem occurs on more than one page... in fact, it's thruout the entire store. Some products show their components fine whilst others for no apparent reason don't show them at all.

Local Preview reflects this also.

And as if by magic, all the components in question have now disappeared out of the Actinic software. Really not sure what's happening now...

And I close and reopen actinic and the components are back again, but still not showing on the site or on local preview.

And now as if by magic, local preview is working and I'm reuploading the site... but this is the second time dodgy stuff like this has happened within the past month or two.

Last month we lost 3 years worth of order history. No-one was anywhere near the system... one minute there was a page full of pending and completed orders.... turned round, turned back, all orders vanished completely. Checked database and all order tables were empty. Sent off the entire database to a recovery specialist who couldn't explain it either but said they were irretrievably lost.

However they didn't magically resurface. They were lost for good.

Have checked hardware and moved the entire installation onto a new machine. All machines are virus and spyware free etc. We are behind a firewall or 3 that are correctly configured to prevent any form of outside interference.

I have not heard of this issue with any other client using version 6. I just wonder if there is an issue with your database. I would recommend in registering an email ticket on support, by the following address: http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm. They may ask for a snapshot of your site.

Hi Marci,

Probably not too much use now but we have a free Actinic database backup utility in our plugin library, it makes copies of the database at timed intervals.

Your site seems to be fine now by the way.
