Using Digital Download for free demo software

I'm intending to use the digial download option for free 30-day demo software on the basis that it will force the customer to provide their details in order to download thus providing some form of monitoring on eventual purchases/take up rates of the full versions.

Being relatively new to Actinic and gradually discovering its endearing little quirks, would appreciate any comments and thoughts etc on the wisdom or otherwise of this approach.

In particular will Actinic throw a 'wobbly' with a shopping cart value of £0.00

I could provide a straight download link but see the DD option, if it works with freebies, as providing valuable info for follow ups.

minium charge

I use digital downloads and as far as i can remember i set something to a value of 0.00 - but i am using world pay and there was something like a minium charge of .50cent - so the payment would not go through. Maybe you could try setting payment to the additional option of invoice with order.

this is not a problem - at least in earlier versions of Actinic - see http://www.genemco.com - they use Actinic to showcase industrial food processing equipment - Actinic is used to as an information request list - all prices are $0.00.
