    Shopping cart totals are incorrect

    Hi

One of my customers has been having problems with my shopping cart. Basically she had 1 x item at £25.11 net and 1 x item at £20.85 net. The actinic shopping cart made a total of £66.81 net. (Instead of £45.96).

The customer kindly took a shot of the screen for my attention - which I have attached.

I know that plenty of customers aren't having this problem and that when I test its fine.

    Any ideas?

This is a strange one as I can replicate it with the same items as your shopper. For some reason the total is using twice the value of the pencil, even though there's only one in the cart.

Strangely, adding the pencil first and then the pen doesn't cause the problem so it doesn't look like an obvious problem.

Probably the best thing to do is compact your database, change something in the description for the pencil and do an update. that might fix any potential database errors and update the appropriate files.

I had a problem last month with V6 when I had a discount price in "Product Details", "Prices" i had entered a value for a single purchase and a £0.50 discount for two or more of the same item.

Whilst most of the site worked properly on some items when you purchased a single item you were given the discount price

No solution ever found and in the end i deleted the item and then upgraded.

Might be a connection but support could not give any help except delete

If you've not implemented Mikes good suggestion yet, I'd recommend taking a snapshot in case Actinic want to see your database.

          All

Thanks. I will take a snapshot and then compact my database. I have raised a support call with Actinic. If I get to the bottom to it I will post results.

Interestingly I have tried this on two seperate machines. Adding the pen first then the pencil works fine from both of my computers.

Tell a lie - I have just managed to replicate this problem.

However I have done it the other way round - should be 1 of each pen - but instead the cart is charging for two of the ballpoint pens.

This didn't happen the first time however - I had to empty my shopping basket and try again - then the problem occured.

Can I ask whether you have 'Request Location Information Early' selected in 'Business Settings | Ordering'. There is a problem at the moment in v7 whereby if you have this selected then the cart will show double what you have ordered.

                Could you check this please?

The answer is yes, 'select location early' is being used. It confused the hell out of me as I hadn't seen anyone using it before.

                        Hi All

I have switched the 'Request Location Information Early' off and tested all looks fine - but then again I have never been able to replicate the problem from my current computer.

If anyone gets a chance - and can add the Yoropen Executive Ballpoint and also Yoropen Executive Pencil - to their shopping cart - to test - I would appreciate it. http://www.kjbeckett.com

                        Many thanks
