cookies anyone ?

I have placed a jump menu on the index page of a site, which (in theory) should pop a customer straight into particular products. I have used the page which each product (if I wander to it by using the menus) presents ... I have a feeling this is not a new thread, but would still like a pointer if possible.

So if I go to the site afresh and use the jump menu, I get a page which tells me :

if I click, I enter no problem .. but obviously this is not the smoothest method.

Are you going straight to the static HTML pages or via the scripts in the cgi-bin?

I can't imagine the static HTMl pages presenting any problem, but the scripts could well be looking for a cookie with login details, particularly if you use customer accounts.

If you want to go via the scripts then you might want to check that you have the correct referrer info and nologin details in the url.
