external link to custom property

hello, im trying out v7 business, i have an access database which i have linked up ok for my products. Although i can not seem to link to a field i have called 'flavours' i have set up a custom property in actinic called 'flavours' and i need to link to it in my database. Is there a way i can add a data field in actinic link ?

Hi there

I'm afraid this is not possible, you cannot link to a custom property using external link. The only workaround i could find is the following:

Custom Properties cannot be linked to an external database I'm afraid. If you just need a couple of text fields, then you can use the 'Extended Information Text' field and also the 'Information Link Text' fields to bring in extra custom information.

Use NETQUOTEVAR:INFOTEXT to insert the former into the HTML, and use NETQUOTEVAR:PRODUCTLINKTEXT for the latter.

These guys won't be suitable if you are wanting to do the advanced searching on them, but they are pretty good for just displaying HTML.

Hi, i am wanting to do searching with custom propertys.
Also is actinic planning on an upsell, 'customer who bought this also bought' i have seen this feature in oscommerace and it is really what i need.

Have a read through our help file, if you go to "Help | Help Topics". Click on the "+" sign next to "Online Store Features" and select "Searching on product properties"
