Component Weight

I have a couple of products with which you can pick an additional component to go with it. This increases the weight of the product is there any way I can include the weight to this component so that this will be calculated at the checkout.

you *could* use an associated product of a set weight and just select the "hidden online" box on that product.

That should increase the weight, and if you want, price too
