    Upload Problem

I am trying to upload my site for the first time and on running the Web Configuration Wizard when I enter the ftp address, username and password (all of which I have checked are correct) I get the following error message:
Unable to connect, specific error: There are no more files.
If anyone can suggest a solution I will be very grateful.

      Nadeem,

I am using a company called Zionmedia. By manually entering the details into Actinic rather than using the Web Configuration Wizard I am getting nearer to uploading the site, but I am now getting an error that says the scripts cannot be run. I have got their technical people looking into it and hopefully they will resolve the problem. If not I will come back here with more information.

      Thanks

        Nadeem,

Still no luck with this problem.

The error message I am receiving is as follows:

The test script failed to execute on the web server. The error could be caused by several things. Check the path to the Perl shell, the CGI script extension, the path to CGI-BIN, and the CGI-BIN URL. This error could also occur if your web site is out of disk space or your web server is not configured to accept POSTs to CGI scripts.

This is preceeded by a full page of script which begins:

The check script sent an invalid response (1448,/usr/bin/perl

later in this page is a line which says:

It appears as if CyberSitter or some other network filter is mangaling the scripts.

Best to post your network settings here.

Go to Advanced / Network Setup / Export. This will create a text file that you can copy and paste into the Forum.

Make sure you delete all passwords before posting.

            Martyn,

Something to check with regard to your scripts not working; if you're using Apache, make sure the directory where your scripts are being uploaded to on the server has permission to execute CGI scripts within Apache's directives (your host should be able to clarify this)?

If not, you'll need to upload the scripts to a part of the server that has specific permission to execute scripts. Commonly this will be a directory named cgi-bin under your public_html directory.

            All the best

                Hi there

What server are you running linux or windows, if it is linux then change

                PATHFROMCGITOCATALOG ./acatalog/
                to
                PATHFROMCGITOCATALOG ../acatalog/

If it is a windows server then leave PATHFROMCGITOCATALOG alone, but FTPPATHFROMCGITOCATALOG should be ../acatalog/

                Kind Regards

Many thanks, that has cured the problem. The site is now up, running and taking orders.
