Cant send email

I am unable to send emails via the actinic interface. The error is that the smtp server is being rejected.

it is setup as mail.domain.com . This is the setting from the server control panel and what is entered into outlook for example.

The server is running linux.

Does anybody know why this should fail or is there an easy fix for this?

Who are your hosts?

Did it work before?

If so it's possible that your server operators changed something.

Possibly they changed the SMTP server name. There was chatter on other forums about one ISP doing just that recently.

Possibly to requiring Authenticated SMTP (which Actinic only supports in V7).

Also check your error log, it should be in http://www.domain.com/acatalog/error.err.

See if there is any smtp server error messages.
