Gift Wrapping Service

Hi All,

With valentines day just around the corner, we would like to introduce a gift wrapping service. Ideally, this would prompt the user during the checkout stage to select "gift wrap" and make a small charge. I don't really want to add this as an option to all products.

I can see that I could do this by twiddling with the shipping options and adding a "gift wrap" option to each of the shipping methods at a slightly increased price but has anyone come up with some other (more appealing and attractive) way of doing this?

Any ideas gratefully received.

This is what we have done but it might not suit everbody gift wrapping

Yup, that is sort of what I wanted to do but rather than treat it as a product and have it in the catalogue, I wanted to upsell it at the checkout stage.

I am fiddling with the shipping and creating a "carriage with gift wrapping" option for now.

We are also interested in the possibility of doing this, also with an option to include a message with the delivery.

Anyone else have ideas as to how this could be achieved?

If you want to upsell at the check out stage you can edit the Act_PrimaryCheckout.html template and add links and images there back to the "gift wrap" product.

If you set this up as a CUSTOMVAR you can then easily change the offer / text from within Actinic and without having to re-edit the Act_PrimaryCheckout all the time

I created a product call "Message Card" set at zero value with a "other info prompt" and again this is hardcoded into the Act_Primary and Act_PrimaryCheckout templates so people can add a message card to their gifts from anywhere within the site.
