    how does SSL work?

    Hello community,

I am trying to use an SSL certificate on my site to add a secure environment to the checkout pages of my catalogue site.

I am finding the whole process very confusing.
Can someone tell me how the whole set up is supposed to work.

Right now I have purchased an https://secure.flareshoes.com account.
What does this account do? What files need to be uploaded to it?

I have updated my website in actinic, I expected to see a small padlock icon in the corner of the browser(in the check out pages). Is this assumption correct

    What am I doing wrong?

    Hi there

We have an SSL guide on the following site: http://www.actinic.co.uk/hosting/. Its called "Correct SSL Setup of Actinic on Both HTTP and HTTPS".

What this explains, is that you either needs the SSL within your ftp account, or if its a separate account, then to create a symbolic link between the secure /acatalog/ folder and the insecure /acatalog/. So what should happen is that anything you put into the insecure /acatalog/ should already be in the secure /acatalog/ folder.

    Kind Regards
