    Archive Orders

There has been posts in the past about this but thought I would ask again.

Is there any plans to add an archive orders option to Actinic, ideally as a seperate tab in the orders screen but held in a different database?

I appreciate that you can easily import them into your own database but this makes viewing them difficult and runs the risk of the file being lost if your computer dies!

    Hi Dave

Im afraid at the moment there arnt any plans to my knowledge to include a feature like this, as you say, the only way to export and archive your orders at the moment is by exporting to the csv file.

I will add your request to our wishlist.

    Hope that helps

If you have developer, you can do this by creating a snapshot, creating a new site that is clearly labelled as an archived site, switching to that site and importing the snapshot there, then you can return to the old site and purge and delete the orders that you want to archive. If you then get an enquiry older than x you can switch to your old site and look it up. If you do this then I would recommend removing the network settings from the 'archive' site to prevent accidental uploading or downloading.

You can also create an 'archive' that is accessible by mole end products by one of the ways below :

        1) Use the export orders module of One Stop Automation to export the data entry report to RTF format, you can then use explorer to search the RFT files to find order details

        3) Use One Stop Order Processing to view order details, this is easy, you just need to create a dummy directory under the sites directory (clearly marked as an archive) and copy the file called actinicCatalog.mdb from your current site over to this new one, One Stop Order Processing will be able to access the order details on that database - this is a particularly good solution because OSOP has really good order search facilities and it is very easy and quick to switch between sites.
