checkout link brings you to a page not found

I just had a Thawte certificate installed and I went into my business settings and selected SSL on checkout (and customerlogin) and under the configure method selected: standard SSL. Then I refreshed my store. When I when to test it I ordered something and then went to go checkout and I got a "page not found" error. Does something else need to be checked? We just want the order process to run over SSL and we'll download the orders and run the credits cards through another process. And of course the store needs to go live March 18.

I'm afraid I know very little about SSL so I would not be able to make any great suggestions. Have you run the 'Web | Configure Web Site Details' wizard and told it about your SSL server?
