Hi, I want to construct searches which I can apply (via a url) to my Catalog V6.0.1 site.

What I want is to create a form to gather tailored info and make a suggestion as to what the customer is looking for. I was thinking that the form will redirect the user to a url based upon the form data. I could just use specific product URLs but that's a bit restrictive and and maintenance intesnsive. So I thought I'd get the form to create the target url to do a search of the catalogue.

eg the following will search for anything "green"...



I'm ok doing the forms etc., but I want to know more about the syntax of the search string.

Does anyone know of a good resource for this?

On page 54, there is a section about Editing Search Page Html, but it also contains some information regarding the custom.fil files. There is also a section on "Joining Search Terms Together in Different Ways"
