Adding Description & Keywords in META tags

Can anyone advice me as to the best way to add Description & Keywords to the META tags?

    Thanks in advance.

The Keywords and Description are set up under each section header.

The description is a sentence which appears beneath the search results from a search engine. You are best to use plain english and keep to under 250 characters

The keywords are simply a string of relavent words separated with comma's. These should be words which best describe what is on your page and also add generic words such as "UK" or "London" etc to assist people searching for a specific product closer to them. Don't repeat the words as search engines will score you down.

Best not to copy tags over from parent sections but to add new to each section as this keeps each page with the relavant tags. Having used Actinic for over a year I have not had any issues with listings on search engines using Actinic only and regularly feature on the first 2 pages under a variety of searches

It is best to use different keywords for each section as this tailors the info to each page - it is pointless having a meta tage with "elephant" if the page is about screwdrivers. You can obviously keep some generic terms in there such as "uk" or "mail order" etc but try and keep the tags relavent to each page - it helps of course if you have lots of content against your products so the tags match the content.

It is a pain if you have lots of sections and sub-sections but it is worth the effort as you will increase your search engine placings dramatically - which is what it is all about
