    Perl?

Hi guys, I just started using Actinic for designing a webstore. Can someone please help me with using the cgi files? I think i have to install a program called Perl but I have no idea what that is or where to get it. Any help will be gladly appreciated. Thank you.

What are you trying to do? Most of the time you don't need to know but your server must have a cgi-bin with perl as a system requirement.

if you want to be able to run actinic scripts on your pc, there are intructions in the Advanced user guide (download it from actinic site).

you need the section Appendix A: Installing a Standalone Demo on a PC

Hello again, in the Advanced Network Selection, it asks "Path from CGI-BIN to acatalog directory". Would I be able to get this info from my webhost or is it something I'm suppost to have. I ask because i'm having trouble sending files to my ftp.

When I go to the Wizard it gets up to Website Address. When I type my website into the box and press next, I get the following error ,"The wizard recieved an error while verifying the the webserver. Error sending request. By the way I don't have any website up on my ftp.

having done a Whois on your domain, its tells me you are using Microsoft-IIS/6.0 as your server type.

I can't help with Windows servers....

                        Network Setup.

In the Network Setup there is a box to fill in "Path From CGI-BIN to acatalog Directory ". Can someone please explain this to me and where I can get this information from?

Your host should be able to tell you that. I had a look at their website but they don't appear to list the cgi-bin location location so you'll need to ask them.

Most of this can be done using the wizard for setting up the network settings.

Path to perl on windows could be c:\perl\bin or something like this but your host can tell you your path for your server
