How do I display section description at top of section page?

I have been searching for the answer for this one - but not sure if it was ever resolved. I want to put the section description text at the top of the section page ...apart from creating dummy products with this as their description is there a better way to do it?

Hi Karen

You could use custom variables for this. To create a customer variable simply go to "Advance | Custom Properties", click on the "+" sign, and place in "INFO". This will now create a variable called "CUSTOMVAR:INFO"
Now to place this within the section, go to "Advance | Template Manager | Section" and click on "Child Section". This will bring up "Act_Sectionline.html". Here simply resave it as "Act_SectionLineCustom.html". Now you can edit the Act_Sectionline.html and place the custom variable - "CUSTOMVAR:INFO", along the top. Save it and exit.
This you will only need to do once.

Now to enter the section description you want to display, please following these:

Go to the "Layout" tab. Click on "Select" and "Browse", now find "Act_SectionLineCustom.html". Once you have set this, go to the "Properties" tab and click on the "+" sign. Here find "INFO" in the dropdown list, and place in the section description you want to. appear along the top. Simply tick on "Use as Customvar" and "OK"

Further to this enquiry, I'd like to add a description to a section page which displays its section contents in a three-column table.

I'd like the description to run across the top of the section contents (ie, across the three columns).

So, the description will be, for instance, "Why not treat yourself to one of our badges, shields or trophies?" Beneath this, in three columns, will sit the section links (and images) for Badges, Shields and Trophies.

So far I've only succeeded in having the description appear above each section image - so it says "Why not treat yourself ..." three times, once above each section link!

Any thoughts?
