Can't FTP Now; Could Always FTP Before

I have been "FTP-ing" my site countless times without incident for years.

I recently made a change to Business Settings Security to use standard SSL security rather then the Actinic "Java Script" method. This is the only change made. When I then tried to refresh my site, I get the error message:

"An error occurred when trying to connect to the server. This can happen when Windows is confused about proxy settings. If you have Internet Explorer or another application configured to work with a proxy, the settings should be the same for Actinic Ecommerce. Please check your connection first."

I read a few threads on this issue and the suggestion was that a firewall might be preventing the FTP. I have had Norton Personal Firewall installed for many months and Actinic (Catalog.exe) has "permit all" privledges, as it has had from the very beginning.

    Can anyone help?? Thanks.

I would change yoursettings back to the old method of payment to check that works.

If it does, then you will need to check out your SSL cert with your host or who ever installed it, to see if you need to provide a pathname

It turned out that what was required was to change my Network Settings. The Catalog and CGI-BIN URLs had to be changed from http:// to https://.
