    /acatalog/ access forbidden

    Hi

Here's another problem I am encountering with search engine optimisation.

I have just looked at the stats for the site and today there are 313 page view errors for the page www.villnovafood.com/acatalog/. On another (v4) site I have built, entering the /acatalog/ reference brings up the front of the store (as opposed to the home page, which is seperate html sitting a directory above the /actalog/).

Again, not many potential customers will be entering www.villnovafood.com/acatalog/, but does this present a problem for search engines? who was doing the 313 attempts to view that address? and how do I avoid it?

    Thanks

    Julia

It's strange because it doesn't look like a 404 error yet neither do any other incorrect pagenames so I suspect it's something to do with the way the server is setup.

It would seem that the default page (which is normally index.html) is called something else and there's no rewrite setup to direct to that.

You should also get a 404 page created that can be served when an incorrect page is called.
