Hi Everyone,

We are currently hosting with 1and1.co.uk but are extremely disappointed with their services.

For example:
They claimed that we had not paid our bills (we had!!!) and instead of contacting us they cut us off!!! We lost 2 days of orders by the time they admitted they were at fault.

They have also deleted emails from our pop accounts due to the incompetence of their techies. (We are a IT support company and we did offer our services lol)

We are now looking for a good hosting company in the UK.

Any suggestions??

Does it have to be in the UK? If not, then may I recommend WebHostingBuzz.com, they are located in the states, in NJ. They are very reasonable and Actinic works very well first time with no hassles. You have unlimited email accounts, unlimited email alias' (forwarders), unlimited subdomains, 24 hr support, Apache Handlers, Lnyx servers. You are in control of every aspect of your "server" through the use of cPanel. Check it out. I don't think you will be disappointed and they are very fast as well.

Hi,

I have a couple of accounts with '4sure Hosting' and apart from a 'DOS' attack a couple of months ago - which, lets face it, can happen to any hosting provider, they have been great. Any minor problems have always been sorted in an efficient manner. As they have dedicated Actinic hosting packages there shouldn't be many problems with setting up your Actinic site.

I would second the 4sure hosting, great company - tech support could not be better , got a reply in 5 mins at 11:00pm one sunday night!. Very capable with Actinic and even email you the actinic settings which work first time! I have no connections at all with them (other than being a customer). I had a weird thing I needed to do with mysql, it needed interaction between clara.net and them, always took days for clara to reply and minutes for 4sure to reply. Took two weeks to resolve - would have taken 20 mins if the details from clara were correct. I rate 4sure 110% - Good prices too.

Another 4Sure fan here. They have always been very supportive, and even translate their instructions to "Janet & John" mode for us non-techies if requested. We've just renewed for another 12 months with them, and remain delighted.

ask what their backup connection is...

the primary is yipes! fiber - same as runs into the colocation we're finishing at the moment.... it's a nice connection, but it needs a solid backup (we're running a 40mbit wireless connection to the building across the road with at&t fiber... *IF* they can find out who can sign the contract to provide the backup... grr...

Used 4 sure hosting for over 12 months now...always reply within minutes[most times]you can speak to them on the phone and they ring you back as well...they will even reply at midnight.
