Uninstall V7 Demo before upgrading?

I had to install V7 a week or so ago in order to get everything working for the new QB Link w/ my V6. I have the V7 and the V6 installed, but V6 is my production site. I've now purchased V7. I assume I need to uninstall the copy I have, and then reinstall it with the upgrade option. Right?

I had a similar situation with the live site in v6 whilst trialing the v7 demo - after making many backups of the whole site folder I went down the route of removing the demo and installing the full version from disk - the site upgrader worked first time and without hitch.
