different quantities for each attrubute

It must be Monday, but I can't see how to have a quantity box PER attribute. I don't want customers to choose either (a) or (b) option - I'd like them to have several of each!

Have I asked a daft question (in which case, please tell me so and give me the idiot's answer!) or have I asked for the impossible? As I sell products in different sizes, and a large percentage of my customers want to buy a number of each size for resale, this is quite fundamental. I am trying to keep the list of products down by using one product with size attributes.

Other than using several products (perhaps with a very concise layout) and the Single Add to Cart, you can't do what you want out of the box.

I've written an extension that adds a Colour / Size type matrix that might help see www.drillpine.biz/actinicstuff for it. This can make a 2d matrix or a single size one if required.
