Copying Subsections & their Items (Mark 2!)

I posted this earlier but it seems to have been lost in the restore

I am not sure if this is a bug or the way things are intended but when I copy a subsection and its products it always insists on a new product ID for each product it is copying - it will not do a product duplicate

if you cancel the new product ID screen it does not copy the product at all

It would be nice to be able to copy a section and have the option to "Paste Subsection as Duplicate" - with all the products being pasted as duplicates

It would mean I could create a number of "all product" sections which at present would take too long! I am currently completely overhauling the design of my webshop and adding more products but there are limits to how long I can spend copying things individually

I would appreciate any help on this

Thanks for your help in advance

This is causing me a lot of extra work in overhauling my site - it must affect many other people as well

    Thanks

Don't know if this would help, but I had a similar problem so created an excel file and copied and pasted the items, using concatenate to put 1! in front of the ID of each one, and creating the new section|subsection for each.

you also need to put a 1 in Product type column to show it's a duplicte, and original ID in Original Product Reference
