    Very slow after upgrade to V7

    Hi,

    I have recently upgraded to V7 Business from V6 but since upgrading Actinic is running very very slow in order processing and changing products. In the catalog, for example opening an order will now take around six seconds to open, some products will take over ten seconds, somethimes Actinic will just come up with 'Not responding' and give up, I then need to restart Actinic.

    I have reverted back to V6 and it is still running fast on there, I have also compacted the databases, archived orders etc... but this problem still will not go away.

    Any ideas please?

      Hi Mike, Sorry I I dont think I explained it too well, it is actually running slow on my side of Actinic(processing orders changing products) , not the customers/web site side

        Sorry Martin. That was my mistake as I clearly can't have read your post properly.

        I son't remember seeing or hearing of a similar problem. You might want to read this post http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=2970 if you've been playing with databases recently.

        What version of V7 are you using and and what's your PC specs?

          Hi,

          I am using 7.0.1 and my PC is an AMD Athlon XP2500 with 1GB of RAM. I also have another company on V7 (on the same computer) and that works fine and is fast as things were on V6. To give you an example of how slow it is, when I click on an order it will take around 5-10 seconds to open up.

            This I think is a bug in 7.0.1, I would recommend that you upgrade to the latest version (is this 7.0.3) and this problem should go away. If you do not want to upgrade then you could try compacting your database and the problem should get better for a while but will come back.

              Thanks Jan, we have tried the upgrade and there seems to be quite an improvement (about 50% faster) , maybe we just need to buy a higher spec PC and we will be up to full speed again.
