house signs bespoke purchase

I have a request to sell housesigns.....here's the spec

For the house signs the process is
– pick a size and shape of plaque (that determines the price)
- choose picture from 137 choices
- add your house number
- on larger signs add freetext name
- show how you want it laying out (e.g picture left / numbers right)

Any ideas how to acheive this?

Components and Permutations should deal with this OK. However the large picture choice range might be best done visually.

Have a look at www.drillpine.biz/actinicstuff for NorMap which would allow you to condense your 137 images into a single image map.

I must have been having a dopey moment as this can be done with one product per image.

the users text is added to the product dynamically - you could do something similar to show the finished product prior to ordering

Hi Pinbrook,

We wrote a bespoke site for a print company, it is a print management system where the customer can pick and design business cards using PDF's the logic behind is will count from template elements and using a PDF online builder they can design, save, quote and buy new stationary. It could be adapted to work for this quite easily. Bit expensive though. We have just completed one for house signs http://www.leadsigns.co.uk using actinic and Normans multiple other info promps. simple but works.
