spurious <br> in html

Really odd this. I have a brochure page with 3 fragments. 1 and 2 are image right of text, 3 is image left of text. After fragment 2, I get three <br> generated in the preview html - not generated in fragment 1, which is exactly the same template! I have turned on the border and the lines are definitely appearing in fragment 2, not at the start of 3. The image is not causing the problem. I can't see where the <br> are coming from. Any ideas? The text in fragment 2 is:

(I tried using BLOCKQUOTE instead of all the &nbsp but was afraid they might be causing the problem)

Hi there

With the fragment 2, do you have check to see if there is no carriage returns within the full description. Have 3 carriages returns would translate in 3 <br>. So just make sure ">!!" has not space after it.

Are you aware that "&trade;" equates to all that <sup> business you got goin' on there? I know it's slightly off topic but might make it easier for you.

Ie:

!!<^{<font size="0">TM</font>}>!!

can change to:

!!<&trade;>!!
