Adding a "Customers who bought this product, also bought these." facility

What I'm after is -
when the customer places an order for 'a hammer', for example they are notified that other customers who ordered 'a hammer' also ordered 'nails' & 'elastoplasts'.
I've seen it done somewhere before and think it might be handy.
I think adding it to the product confirmation page would be best but I'd have to stop the auto forwarding. Or perhaps I could add it to the view basket page. Obviously this would have to link back to the products.
Has anyone done anything similar?
