This thread started in 2003 when Actinic v5 was around. Snapshots were not available then. They came in in V6 and were not reliable initially.

Nowadays Snapshots are the way to go.

Whatever route you use you leave your original XP V7 system unaltered so you can always start again if things fail.

Don't worry if we seem to sometimes disagree with Actinic as collectively the top 10 or so posters here have a lot of experience.

"Blokes" in sheds are what won the second world war and made Britain great -they now work on forums.

If you don't like what us blokes (who have far more real world experience that anyone in actinic support) are saying then I've better things to do.

Snapshots are without doubt the best method. Any references to any other means by Actinic in any current software help files are out of date.

What's your shed like Duncan - I've just had a new roof put on mine.

My shed's matured over the years - it's now my wife's workshop, heated, electrics, wooden flooring, phone, internet, 24m2.

Wow - I dream of a shed like that. Mine was a gym but is now morphing into a workshop for my car which was also designed and built by a bunch of blokes in sheds.

Thank god for that - hundreds of years of british tradition was nearly wiped out there

Women have kitchens, men have sheds! My wife uses my shed, but it's still my shed.

My wife has always had rather large feet, for Christmas i paid for her to have a foot reduction operation. She is now happy as she has to have all new shoes and I am delighted as she can now stand closer to the sink.

Sounds like Duncan has a kitchen sink fitted to his shed so his wife can multi-task such us blokes cannot do!
