Advanced Search - Very defined search.

Hi

I would like to create an Advanced Search Page with multiple dropdown lists that when selected and submitted - make a very defined search.

My idea involves giving each product a number of custom properties (e.g search1, search2):

Product 1:
Search1: Belt
Search2: Yellow
Search3: Men

Product2:
Search1: Belt
Search2: Red
Search3: Men

Then on the Advanced Search page - when the customer selects:

dropdown list Type: Belt (choice)
dropdown list Colour: Red (choice)
dropdown list Gender: Men (choice)

...the search will present all the products with this criteria - even if the customer doesn't type anything into the free form text bar.

Can this be done?

On the AVG (page 55) there is something similar but I am struggling to get my head around this.

Any advice would be appreciated.

actually having written all this out I seemed to have cleared my mind and can see clearly now. I think this is what p55 of avg is describing!
