Required Email Problems

Hello,

For my invoice details page I have email address slot set as show but not required, however if you leave this blank it generates an error saying the format is invalid (meaning that an email address is required!)

It does not do this for the delivery details page, can someone help? Am I missing something really obvious?

On an ecommerce site an e-mail address is usualy required so the customer gets a reciept. I think it is required
