    Coupon code problems

We are using a 10% coupon code on our medical wear site. It is functioning properly except due to data entry issues with our custom inventory system, we need for the price MINUS the discount to be shown on each line item when given to the data entry clerk.

With the discount amount at the very end of the report, or even listed individually underneath each line item, our rep still has to manually figure out what is 10% off and enter that total in her software. It is a rather long story but the bosses don't want her to have to spend that extra time.

I have emailed support but they say I'm not doing what they ask, which I am and I'm not getting that data entry report result as of yet.

Any ideas? Does anyone understand what I'm meaning?

    Hi Christy

Do you have a support number, as i don't understand what they mean.

Anyway, if you want to make any changes to the data entry report, you will need to edit the reports using crystal report 8.5. So if you want the "Outstanding Data Entry" report to reflect the price minus the discount for each line item then it would be customising the reports. Our partner Mole End specialises in editing reports. Maybe they can help you.

Actually this would be quite hard to do, Actinic enters discounts as if they were special sorts of order lines, they don't actually have any bearing on the products that the discount has been applied to.

To resolve this you would probably have to preprocess the information that you have with a program and then print a customise report.

Not the answer you want I know, so sorry.

You can use logons to discount product prices within Actinic, if you do this then the reports will reflect the discounted prices, maybe you should be using this approach instead.

        Jan,

Thanks for your quick reply. We found that the logon/login function was not useful for mass, unknown customers. It was confusing them and we were getting orders without names.

We had to send out a rather generic code that anyone who received our print catalog with the inviting discount information on the back could use.

        Thus the dilemma...

Just hoping to reopen this query for a bit since Jan says Mole End probably won't have an answer...

          Thanks!
