Editing The 'Index' Page

Howdy, while updating the companies site with a full site refresh I find this morning that the index page has beeen changed to the original this is a demo site page. Which obviously isn't going to get me any browney points at work, is there a way with out restoring form yesterdays backup that I can change the page back/edit it?

If the worst happens how reliable are site backups to change them back again?

When the page loads and you get the default shop screen when you click on products you go to the /acatalog/index.html which was the normal index page yesterday before the refresh. how do I get this back to the top again. Help!

I'm not clear what is happening here. Have you got acatalog/index.html or index.html as your entry page?
