    Cart / Checkout Problems

    Hi there,

    I have a problem. I have two domain names pointing to the same section of website... I started off with one that works fine, then added another domain and here is where problems have started...

    I set the site up so that my View Cart and Checkout button where hand coded by me...

    I thought I would be able to just use '/cgi-bin/ca000001.pl?ACTION=SHOWCART' for this to work... However I find that when using my new domain, after I have added items to the cart, they appear (when actinic automatically does its redirect to the cart page), but if I click on my hand coded link (which appears very similar) it shows the cart as empty! again if I click on the checkout option it appears as empty as well...

    Any ideas?

    I should also add, that eventually I will transfer all the traffic from the old domain to the new domain... and was wondering if anyone else might of done this and if there are any pitfalls with actinic when doing this...

      You have cookie issues. What are the 2 domains? Actinic sets cookies that are not being read by the second domain.

      My advice would be to dispense with the second domain and get it pointed to the first using either htaccess rules or get your host to point it for you. You will have no end of problems trying to keep the cookies across 2 domains.

        ah I see, its cookies...

        the domains are www.awareunderwear.com and www.awarelondon.com

        The thing that confused me was that I had changed over all Actinics settings to www.awarelondon.com (in the network setup etc) and the cart was still empty... So I am left very unsure how i'm going to swap over to this www.awarelondon.com domain name...

          Hi there

          Checking your site, i see on the nqset00.fil (http://www.awarelondon.com/acatalog/nqset00.fil) the following:

          'CATALOG_URL' => 'http://www.awareunderwear.com/acatalog/',
          'CGI_URL' => 'http://www.awareunderwear.com/cgi-bin/',
          'SSL_CGI_URL' => 'https://www.awareunderwear.com/cgi-bin/',
          'SSL_CATALOG_URL' => 'https://www.awareunderwear.com/acatalog/',
          So it seems this information is not getting updated, please could you ftp to the site and delete the .fil files only and do a refresh.
