Need to tackle placing images on the section pages as you have suggested, possible rolling them over if that is possible! Any suggestions with at?

Quick order page:

I have been toying with that idea but was not too sure the best way forward on that, duplicate the products not sure. Need away of showing that a product is for a certain delivery date, different colour background, small image of the product etc.. It is in my mind, but corncerns of how to implement.

Childrens selection has been broken out into the pick and mix as we removed it from the paper catalogue but it could easily be put back for the website, I did like the idea of it.

Courgette/squash again found in the pick and mix :- Pumpkin ''Jack O'Lantern'' or Courgettes ''Patriot F1''

Must admit my favourite are the peppers and chilli - Sweet Pepper ''Bell Boy F1''. Moving to the sea I have no where to growth them at the mo but they are great so sweet in a glass house you grow stacks when they are 65p each in the shops well worth growing!!

I have just been to the basket page and have had a glimpse of the orange because you haven't put your new graphics onto that page yet.

I have not managed to find the templates for those pages.

My basket expired within a couple of hours as well, this is something that annoys me because I often take ages placing orders and when they expire I usually don't bother putting them in again.

How can you make it not too expire?

Hi Mash,
Just looked at your site and I think it looks fantastic...
Im a graphic designer and have designed websites but Im having problems
getting past doing the basic shop.

Was your site all done within Actinic? My biggest problem is getting the design right ie fonts, font colours, font sizes and extra images to make the site come alive!

I use FrontPage 2K can I desgn layouts from there?

If anyone can give me some idea how to get started on the design side I would be most grateful. I have the "getting started" Actinic book but this only gives me basics.

Sorry if I have broke rules by putting this on the back of site comments, do I need to post it has a seperate question?

Just a thought regarding the banner at the top. The way you have now means that users will screen resolutions of less than 1024 x 768 may have to scroll sideways.

You might consider making that banner a background image to the top table so that if more width is needed the banner will 'slip' behind the table rather than pushing the right boundary across.

Otherwise it looks good - and I'm a horticulturist so I like your stuff.

To answer your question, on your main page the title is "Delfand Nurseries Limited" (note: I click on it and I got a Page not found error). Once I click on the Enter button, I don't know what the name of your store is because
"Delfand Nurseries Limited" is nowhere to be found. People don't necessarily arrive at the main page.

there are several guides to help you with templates and actinic you can download them from the Actinic site.

A word of warning though - do not use Front Page - it will cause you to loose your hair. However do a search on FrontPage in these forums as there are some interesting posts about it.

This morning I have been looking at including the the name "Delfand Nurseries Limited" in the logo. Which will have an impact depending on the way I do it on the size of the header etc.

The comment 1024 x 768 got me thinking and did have a look at the store at 800 x 600 and you are right you do have to scroll. Is it possible for the screen size to resize for different resolutions? Scrolling is not a great thing.

Using the image as a background, I found it just titled it a cross the table, is it possible to set it so it will only use the image once?

I found the Shopping basket expiry time and set this for 20 hours (Web | Configure Expiry Periods ....)

I use Front page just to try stuff out and then look at the HTML behind it and then use notepad. I do have Dreamweaver but never had time to play with it and no notes how to use it! Love to know how to use it!

With regards to the background table, you might need to rearrange the table.

I was thinking that as you have a two column set up there, it might be like this:

<table...>
<tr>
<td width=40%>
<!-- this is your left column where your logo is -->
.
.
</td>
<td background="your-long-background-image.jpg" width="60%">
<!-- this is you top right hand column where the banner goes -->
.
.
</td>
</tr>
</table>

Very simplified. So actually you might need to apply it to the <td> rather than the <table>.

Still places multipal images in the table.

To place a banner with "our name" I have had to increase the height of the logo, still the background to white, and reduced the number of images to the right down to 4. May place images either side of the logo!! How daring!

Still interested to hear on low resolutions issues so the screen can resize.

Working on suggestions from Jan, would it be easy to set-up a grind from the section headings with an image and name. I have placed images on the following April Pick and Mix

It is one long list, so I know that I have to edit the template to make it two columns, concern of getting the next section name not doubling up down the list!

Right I have adjusted the template for page April Pick and Mix

However I have done something to the main page of April .

I have messed up the layout, as parent is selected but since adding images to the other page, this has been messed up, Pick and mix has mooved down!!

Really do not understand it.

The template I adjusted for the images on the first link above, I would like to them to be centered.

to get a banner/logo mutli res you have to divide it into 2. So you have a table with 2 columns. table width 100%

Your little square images go into the right column aligned right

your text image goes in the left column and will be centre aligned. the sum of the width of the 2 images is approx 700 px.

the result will display on 700, and when it displays on 1024 the extra 324 pixels are divided by 2 and white space is shown on either side of the centred text image.

I guess that would work on dividing it up into three (as I have do that this morning), as long as the total now 3 images at up to 700 it would work, I guess.

What about the main body of the site, is there away making that fit at the correct res?

Change ACTSWIDTH to 100% in Design > Options

If using above 7.0.1 you might need to change the Custom Property back to text as someone had the stupid idea (which the developers implemented DUH) of making it an integer.

Thanks it was set to 600, now changed it back to text and 100%.

You can change the cart expiry time in web / configure expiry details.

Did you get your sections to display in columns by changing the section settings or by changing the template? If you changed the section settings in design options / sections then change them back and then go to the section dialog for the pick and mix page and you will find the same settings there, you can them set the multiple columns up just for the pick and mix columns.

If you are going to use coumns you need to get the section images to be the same size to make it look really nice. It already looks better though.
