Can't get auto email to work

Despite having set up everything as it should be, Actinic will not automatically send customers a confirmation of their order. Is this a bug?

Check the smtp settings in Advanced | Network settings. Have you tried the configuration in Outlook Express or Thunderbird to make sure it works?

If yes, the it could be a problem with how your host handles mail. If you say who you are hosting with, someone should be able to help you with settings or patches for that particular host.

smtp is the same as in Outlook

The smtp is with Virtual Names - mail.ukservers.net It is the same as in Outlook. Does the email address in View->Business Settings have to be the same as the one in Outlook? Since the smtp account requires a password and there is no apparent option for one in Actinuic, is this a problem?

If your SMTP server needs a password then it will not send emails until it gets one. Actinic v7 has this feature.

on the network settings page in v7, you can tick a box to enable input of username and password.
Sorry, I have forgotten whether or not v6 had the same feature.

I don't think it did, Bill.
