Including a Breadcrumbs Trail in custom section pages

I have inherited a site that uses custom templates for sections and subsections. What I can't seem to achieve is the dynamic creation of a breadcrumb trail that users can follow back up the catalogue tree. I thought I might be able to do it with the likes of '
    Code:
    NETQUOTEVAR:PARENTSECTIONBOTTOM
' but when I generate the catalogue this is literally displayed on the page as is.

Any help on this would be much appreciated as I am fresh out of ideas.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Simon,

I'm afraid this variable is not supported within the section line template. You would simply place this variable within your "Act_Productbody.html" along the top, and this will appear on the top of your store pages.

    Kind Regards

As i stated in my original post I am working with custom templates and not using Act_* files. However, I have to disagree with your statement that the variable is not supported as I have now managed to get the breadcrumb trail to work in my section templates(not sure what the section line templates do) now.

Nadeem was correct in that the trail is generated from a template outside the Section template (regardless of the new name given to the custom templates) - sounds like you have found the custom template to insert the code into and is now working OK.

I am surprised the original owners of the site have not continued the Act_* tradition in naming custom templates eg: Act_PrimaryNEW.html as this is always helpful for tracking templates and issues (such as this posting) and as the template name is not used on the finished site its name is irrelevent

Nothing surprises me about this site - it has been a real pain from the start and is more complicated than it really needs to be.

          Thanks for help.
