    Frustration

    Hi,

I trying, without any joy, to place images in the side bars. The images appear ok in Offline Page Preview but don't appear on the live site, just x'd out.

I looked through past threads and tried allsorts of different paths, the images are in my site1 folder and I've uploaded the images to my acatalog folder manually aswell

This is what I've put in Design Options / Site Defaults / LEFTBARTEXT

    <img src="3am150.jpg" alt="3am logo"></img><br><br><hr><p align="center">The home of deep house in the north</p><a href="http://www.3amrecordings.com">link</a>

Am I getting the path wrong or is there something I'm not doing, I'm stumped?

    Please can someone help.

    Thanks

    Guy

All I've got in my sidebar is:
<td><a href="CUSTOMVAR:SAVELINK"><img src="saving.gif"></a></td> where SAVELINK has the .html link from the image.

This displays the "SAVE" gif on the left-hand sidebar of www.treatmentgels.co.uk

The image you have listed is not present on your server.

Check that it is included in the additional files (Advanced...Addiional files..add). Also change that html to:

      <img src="3am150.jpg" alt="3am logo"><br><br><hr><p align="center">The home of deep house in the north</p><a href="http://www.3amrecordings.com">link</a>

If you do upload them manually, ensure that you have set your FTPprogram to use Binary Mode, not text mode, for images.

Once you upload it manually verify that you can see the image via:

      http://www.housecuts.com/acatalog/3am150.jpg

I suggest you try that first and if that works, you know the problem is in Actinic, otherwise it'll be something else. Let us know how you get on.

        Hi Guy,

I've done something similar. The images I uploaded using Advanced / Additional files ended up in the acatalog folder, so I had to prefix this to the image file ie

        <img src="3am150.jpg" alt="3am logo">

        would become

        <img src="/acataolog/3am150.jpg" alt="3am logo">.

It might be worth giving this a try.

        Regards,
        Susan.

Hey everyone, thanks for the replys.

I've sorted it now, images are successfully in side bars, woo ho!

I kept the same path as I first listed above. It seems that images didn't load successfully onto the server when I tried to load them via leechs (ftp) or via Advanced Settings so I added the images for the side bars onto other fragments and that way they uploaded successfully via Actinic and bingo they appear, frustration over!

            Thanks again for the help

            Cheers

            Guy
