    Modified Fragment Problems

I am currently re-building my site and trying my hand at changing some of the html. I have successfully done most things with bit trial and error and it seems to work (Time will tell).

However, I require some tables/charts within my site so I thought I would use the fragment template facility to make the charts (designed in word), thus allowing me to show and move it as a fragment anywhere in store. I don't want anything complicated.

Preview worked well, test mode worked well - Exited program.

When I returned, started Actinic - 'Specified Key Missing............'

Searched the forum, found the answer, fixed the problem.....Lost Colour Chart fragment from the list.

I have downloaded the newest patch and still have the same problem, hasn't this been fixed?
Is there any way around it?
Is there a better way to show my tables?

I am very novice at html and any replies need to be very bottom basic please.

    Thank you.

Rather than customise templates for each table, you can simply embed HTML into a Product Description or Fragment Text.

All you need to do is surround your HTML with !!< and >!!

    E.g. In the text put:

    Blah blah !!< <table width=200 bgcolor="#88aaee" border=0><tr><td>One</td><td>Two</td></tr></table> >!! and more normal text.

Thank you Norman, you are a star.

Did not know about the '!!<' bit. So simple if you know how

But I am trying, in fact my family say that I am very trying.

      Thank you again.

I don't know if this will help, but it's a suggestion. I wanted to show two tables, but was concerned that (from my previous site) embedded Word table took a long time to load, so I modified the template to produce an html table for me. I have asked the forum to test these and feedback so far is these pages take no longer to load than anything else. If these suit and I can help, let me know (email). As I have learnt my html from a library book in the last month, it is pretty basic stuff!!!

Also you'd be much better using any other HTML editor (even just bashing it out in Notepad) than Word. When I last looked, it was producing an enormous amount of unnecessary bloat in the generated code.

When I said I used Word, I meant Works Word Processor. Sorry.

I have found that if I create a table and save in html format, I can then open the file in notepad and cut & paste all relevant info, i.e individual tables in to the fragment, thus leaving out any unwanted code. I just then need to change the size and align.

This seems to suit and allows me to save all my tables in one file if necessary.

Thank you Anf, hopefully I now have it sussed until next time anyway.

            Thank you as well Norman.
