    Opinions/views please on new site

    Hi
We published our site last weekend, very quiet as we have not been picked up by any search engines yet, I know this is to be expected.
Just wondered what other peoples views are on our site, It is quite basic I know, but I am keen to hear any suggestions for improvements
    Thanks

Personally I think the images need to be improved. When I arrived at the index page, I didn't know what i was looking at - initial thought was that it was an image of the moon's surface.

The images are quite large, a couple of them to conjure up delicious - The Cocoa Loco Feast Box For Me for example

but the others are quite dull, not much definition, the pictures could do with being photographed under halogen lighting if you are going to do it yourself.

Initially I though the images were black and white. There quite a glare on one of the gift sets.

I'm not one to speak about other folks images, check out ours, lol, but, the box that the Brownie in a Box is in looks, em, `wrong`. Agree with Jo about the homepage image. Could have been snow too.

Hmmm. In this day and age of scarey food, should you not have ingredients listed? Along with some calorie percentages 'n stuff? Don't know, just a thought.

Also a strap line in the top banner would help people to get an immediate grasp on what the site does

this image may give you a better idea ....

I think you have made a good start but images need improvement and additions. I imagine you are trying to evoke an image of "country baking" and suitable shots of eggs/hens, wheat/flour etc would be a relief from the product itself.

I do not mean to denigrate your product - they look delicious!

Yeah, I think the country bakery line is a good thought to evoke, perhaps you could encourage the preception that they are home made, maybe photos of the product in a country kitchen, on a oak table, or cooling by a window or someything

Looks like the ingredients angle has been addressed here: http://www.cocoaloco.co.uk/acatalog/About_Us.html

I have to go with popular opinion and say that your images could be alot better (I do appreciate that photographing food is really difficult though).

I like the idea - but to me, your passion for brownies (am I allowed to say that?!) doesn't really come across. I know that Montezumas chocolate is well worth feeling fat for, but casual punters might not - I think you could include alot more info.

It all feels abit too serious to me.

                Just an opinion.

The look and feel of the site seems to match your product well.

I think people are right about the images. It looks like you need to shrink them down a bit, which with most of your ones is just a matter of cropping them. and maybe try them on the right to see what it looks like.

There are also some long bits of text. try to have just one or two sentences in a paragraph on a web site as it makes it easier to read.

The logo does not seem to match the rest of the site design, maybe changing the font to be simple like the rest of the site and making the squares perpendicular to the horizonal lines would fix that.

The navigation is a little hard to use. maybe have all your sections on the nav bar all the time so that users do not have to go back to the home page to move between sections.

I think that it is a nice site but just needs a little tweaking. Feeling quite hungry now, think i will get some tea and see if there are any brownies!
