Shipping for VAT Exempt and Non-Exempt Products

Hi,

I have set up free shipping for orders over £50, that is if the subtotal in the cart is over £42.55 the delivery is free. This is fine if the items are not exempt from VAT ie the subtotal comes to £42.55 + 17.5% VAT = £50. However, if the items in the cart are exempt from VAT the delivery is free if the total is £42.55, when it should be free if the total is £50.

Currently, the VAT exempt products have a VAT value of exempt in 'Product Details | Details' tab. The shipping charge is also exempt from VAT in 'Business Settings | Shipping and Handling'

I would appreciate if I could be pointed in the right direction in terms of VAT & shipping configuration as well as the settings for individual products.

Hi,

The 'Free Over' option, applies to items added to the basket before VAT is added so you need to put £50 in the 'Free Over' box in the 'Shipping & Handling' tab to get it to do what you want.
