Sure go here http://www.venus365.co.uk/acatalog/search.html and put the focus in the search box.

I see a list like a combo box would show.

Now go here http://e-commerce-aberdeen.com/labou...og/search.html and again put the focus on the search box.

I see the same list in combo box style.

Now go here http://knowledge.actinic.com/users/kadmin/acatalog/ and the same list.

Now go to http://www.yahoo.com/ and I still get a drop down combo style box but it shows the terms I last searched Yahoo on.

    This is very confusing.

      Hi Gary

Thanks for that, I see where you are coming from, the autocomplete function within internet explorer. The knowledge base is an actinic store without the add to cart buttons. At a guess i think this is stemming from us having the same textbox name as what yahoo has. This would explain why the values are being stored in the autocomplete part.

        Nadeem, sorry

Yahoo is okay it has different results but all actinic based sites have the same. Not good if you visit a few actinic stores.

          Hi Gary,

Yes i see, this would be down to Actinic being a template driven software, so the search box name is the same for all Actinic sites. I will put this question to the development team and see what we can do for this.

          Kind Regards

IE's Autocomplete feature can be a nightmare.

For example text fields filled via Autocomplete don't trigger the onchange event. A major bug! There is a sub-tag autocomplete="off" that you can add to text fields to disable this buggy feature.
