    Maximum quantity

    Hi all,

Im noticing a difference between this and the previous version of Actinic. Previously I had stock monitoring turned on and no back ordering allowed, if a customer tried to put 11 in the basket, when I only have 10, a message would pop up saying "sorry, only a max of 10 allowed" etc.

Im now getting this - "Quantity: The quantity must be a whole number greater than or equal to 1."

This doesnt tell my customer anything at all and probably leaves them feeling mathematically challenged or even insulted !

Can someone tell me whats gone wrong ?

    Regards

    Mick

After changing it several times and performing about 3 refresh operations I have got it working.

I get an error message at the top and the over-ordered product is highlighted in red with a message explaining what happened.

Still cannot work out how or why it produced the original message ?

          Hi Michael,

I have just been looking at your site, and adding the following product without any problem: A4 pack of 10 sheets card.
It seems that the a4 pack as a maximum quantity of 20 right? If you don't want this product to have a maximum quantity, simply go to that product, and go to the "Detail" tab. Here you may see you have "20" for the maximum quantity.

              Thanks everyone.

Its now giving an understandable error message, as seen by Nadeem and vernon.

Nadeem, I was wondering why it originally said,

"Quantity: The quantity must be a whole number greater than or equal to 1."

instead of the correct message it is giving now ?

              Cheers

                Hi Mick,

"Quantity: The quantity must be a whole number greater than or equal to 1."
It could be that in "View | Business Settings | Ordering", under "Miscellaneous", you have ticked "Order Quantity Always One".

This may be the reason why you got that particular error message?

                  Thanks Nadeem,

I have just tested your theory and yes your right.
Still not used to the different features of v7 yet, and thats where the confusion came from.

                  Cheers

Hi - was this ever resolved? I have the same problem in v7.05.

I have just come across this on one product - see department of enjoyment.com

The minimum quantity is set to 1 and the maximum quantitiy is set to 2. If I change the maximum to 3 or above it works.
                    Regards

                      Hi David,

Just tried this and it didn't work. I was only allowed to order between 1 and 2, so cannot understand why it should allow you!

                      Regards,

                      David

just done a bit more investigation and this only seems to happen when a pop-up page is not generated on the extended information page.

It does allow me now - I had changed the maximum to a higher number and then back again to 2. Maybe this corrected the problem?
