    Hello Everyone,

This is my first post as an end user of Actinic v7

Like the program lot great bit of kit and certainly miles better than other catalogue gear i've used.

Just wondered if anyone could tell me exactly what html tags Actinic will and wont let you use..... I know the basic src, img, b, i, u, font size etc ... but what about more flashy things like scrolling text, flashing text, twinkling etc.... at this point any information I can get would be greatly apreciated.

    Cheers

You can do whatever you want with Actinic it's knowing how to do it that stumps most end users.

Actinic bases most designs on .css and it's better to keep this instaed of using <font> tags etc.

So are we saying that pretty much any current html tags will work?

You can even sneak bits of HTML into your product long descriptions. Just surround them with !!< and >!! e.g.

This word is !!<<font color=red>red</font>>!! and this isn't.

Some browsers have problems with (in my opinion cheesy) flashing and scrolling etc text. If you want effects like that to work 100% of the time, you might want to use an animated gif, or a wee flash animation

You may want to err against using those effects this-day-and-age, they are usually associated with early and amateur websites and may not give the right impression - do as Ryan says and use a GIF or SWF if you really do need to animate
