    Preventing Direct Image Linking

i've just started using actinic v7. everything is going along really well and seems to be fairly easy.
But my company has a huge problem with people stealing our images off of the site and using them for other things.
So what i really need is to figure out how to prevent direct image linking. i know its possible by using a simple code, but i dont know where it should go. if anyone could help me that would be wonderful.
    thanks

      thanks for the link garyhay.
i'm still having trouble finding WHERE to upload the .htaccess file onto actinic. if anyone could help me quckly that would be great.
i know i could water mark all of my images, but with the mass amounts i'm dealing with that just takes too much time.

You can have a different htaccess file in every directory in your website. This is not usually necessary, but it depends on the content of the file.

If the htaccess you are dealing with now makes a change in access permissions which you only want to apply to one directory (/images) then you would put the file in that folder. You may need to do this directly using your FTP program rather than through Actinic.

If the htaccess is to control files in your /acatalog directory, then load it into your /acatalog folder.
