Returning part of a string?

Hi,

Is it possible to return only part of a string?

Example I have a product short description 'Product 10ml', and I wish to only show 'Product'. Is there a way to do this and if so how?

Are you trying to do in the product template? Search results? Within Actinic? Basket?

It depends on your descriptions - if they are all 'Product' followed by a space, 2 numbers and 2 letters in a consistent way it is more possible than if they are different. Or if it is the first X number of characters you want.

Yes, there will be a space within these product descriptions i.e.: -

ProductOne 10ml
ProductOne 25ml
ProductTwo 10ml
etc...

I want to show the product description within the product layout as 'ProductOne' and then further down show the rest of the string i.e. '10ml'

Hi Andrew

I can't see a way of you splitting up your product name, as the product name only comes in one variable. So I'm afraid this is not possible.
