    FTP problems...yet again

I have been trying for the past 40 minutes to refresh one of our sites, and the process keeps stalling - 'program stops responding'.

I have tried all the FTP settings in Network Setup. Enhanced FTP will not work - I get a 'operation timed out' message. After a few of those it changes to 'There is already an FTP request in progress on this session', then it all stops.

This is not a network or connection issue, I get no problems with any other programs I use when working on our server - just with Actinic. It has never worked well.

    Totally fed up.

I get this problem too, I'd say at least 1 in 10 uploads. It just halts, you could sit waiting forever on a timeout, the cancel button doesn't work and the Actinic program "stops responding" according to Windows. Network traffic to the server can be fast or slow, doesn't seem to matter, and it's not any particular file it gets stuck on.

Killing and restarting Actinic, the files will invariably upload without any more trouble for a good few more goes.

It's a pain, but I'm worried that something might get corrupted by the crash. No problem to date, but you ever know...

      Hi Bob,

This is not a network or connection issue, I get no problems with any other programs I use when working on our server - just with Actinic. It has never worked well.
The message - Operation time out, is coming from the server, not the actinic software, therefore it is the server telling you, its timing out.

This is not a network or connection issue
But the error message is saying "Operation Timeout" from the server.

To progress forward, have you opened a ticket with Actinic Support regarding this problem? I've checked in your past posting you have two threads concerning uploading, but nothing came on after this. If the site is working fine now, when you are uploading, then this leads me to believe you may have a server issue.
If at one point, its working fine - uploading. Then the next day you cannot upload, i would not think its the software.

What your connection? In the past you haven't written about this crucial information. Are you going through a router, if so what router are you using. There has been issues with the netgear router which have been solved for other customer. See the following thread: http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=13557

Please tell us what your connection is and firewall software. It may be you are blocking Actinic from uploading. There has been some cases where a user had turned off their firewall and it was still blocking Actinic.
