Quantity discount (based on basket)

Can anybody help with the following:

We want to give customers discounted prices on products based on the total quantity in the shopping basket. For example:
Item a price for 1-9 £10.50 10 plus £10.00
Item b price for 1-9 £8.50 10 plus £8.00

Therefore if a customer orders 5 of each they will pay the lower price (ie £10 and £8) not the higher ones.

Hi Steve

I'm afraid item a and item b have to be separate product if you want to achieve the above. Currently we only support Quantity based discounting on the product, not on the basket.
