    Customer Accounts with Sage

    Ok this is a good one, not for the faint of heart,

    We currently use Actinic with products imported from sage and orders transferred to sage sales order processing. Because all our customers are unregistered a new sage customer account is created for them every time they order.

    We would like them to be able to log on to thier own account with user name and password, this presents the following problem;

    I believe there is no way of creating an account online say as a customers first order and automating an account and password.

    Any ideas of the best course of action ????

    I'm stuck.

    At the moment there is no way to register for customer accounts online so we have to start off on that footing.

    All I can suggest is whenever you transfer over a new customer account from Sage into Actinic, you can go into the Customer Account details in Actinic and click the 'Send Password' button to inform the customers of their username and password.

      Ok that shouldn't be a problem, is there any way of knowing if new accounts have been transfered in that need passwords.

      Example

      Mr bloggs orders as unregistered on website. His order is transfered to sage and an account created, his account is then transfered back to actinic on next import, how do I know that mr bloggs needs to be issuded a password ??.

      Sorry for all the questions its the firts time we have tried setting up registered customers.

        Don't worry about the questions - these are all good questions. In fact, they are so good that have got me stumped.

        After much deliberation, it turns out the only way to check for newly added accounts is to upload your store, and then Actinic gives you a list of all custoemr accounts without buyers created. You can then copy this list to the clipboard, and refer to it as you create the buyers.

        Hope this helps.
