    Freeze & Crash

Yesterday my PC froze mid way through completeing an offline order. Actinic would not restart when I rebooted the pc, displaying the following error message . .
Actinic failed to open the database DSN=ActinicCatalog7.
The database may be corrupt or the version may be newer than expected.
    This prevents Actinic working.

    The error was:

Cannot open database '(unknown)'. It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt.
    Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed

when I followed the prompt it said to upgrade the MDAC and I followed the link and did so. It still wouldn't open. The suggestion from the warning panel was that actinic should be uninstalled and reinstalled.

I saved the site1 file as site1a on a seperate drive, and followed the instructions. I have actinic up and running but with an old version of my site and no customer details or invoices, how do I get them back from the site1a files or import / replace these?
Can anyone help please . . yours

If you have a copy of Access, I think there is an option to correct corrupt databases. Try searching on this site for Access related issues. Hope this helps.
P.S. - backup it up first.

the snapshot has the extension .acd and will be saved the the SiteBackups folder unless you specify elsewhere

backup databases are in the site1 folder, called previous.mdb and backup.mbd

Hi, Followed that and recovered everything - phew!!! Thanks. Everything seems to be working except that for some reason I can no longer select the payment method other than PROTX when completing an offline order all the other seem to have disappeared . . .

            Hi Stuart,

What Version of Actinic are you running? 7.0.1 or 7.0.2? Version 7.0.3 allow you to have different payment method on offline ordering. Prior versions just had the payment method set in "View | Business Settings | Payment and Security".
Try going into "View | Business Settings | Payment and Security" and add a "Credit Card" payment here and see if it appears in the offline ordering.

            Kind Regards
