    User definable fields

One of the user definable fields on our site is "How did you find our site?". There is then a drop down list with various options. The first option, shown by default, is "Please select:" and this is then followed by various others (search engine, online advert, etc).

A number of customers have gone through the checkout process, leaving "Please select:" as the option.

Is there a way of forcing the customer to make an alternative selection from the drop down list?

    Many thanks

    James

Go to Design | Text and select Web Site(contd), then General informnation. Put a tick in the required column alongside the User Definable 1 prompt.

this question intrigued me, because I can't see a facility for using a drop down menu for these questions. I juts have an empty field for people to fill in, but I would like a drop down menu. Help please

Jane - I found it in the Act_order02.html template - there is code in there already for the drop down, you just have to uncomment (as if anything in Actinic templates was 'just') without breaking anything else.

thanks for your quick reply, Bill. (Do you ever sleep?)

I've had a quick look at the site you recommended and it looks really good -I know what I'm doing this weekend if it's raining. Thank again. I think this will really get me on the right track.

At risk of continuing to hijack this thread, w3schools is great, yep. You might want to try SAMS "Teach Yourself..." books, find an HTML one. Highly recommended, as they work you through everything in a logical order and give you little exercises to do throughout.
