    Actinic v7.0.4

We are pleased to announce that Actinic v7.0.4 has now been released. This release incorporates one bug fix:

After importing a snapshot, the old out-of-date site files are no longer copied to the 'Site1' folder and uploaded to the web site. This was caused by the presence of hard-coded links to section pages in the templates.

Users affected by this bug should download and apply the v7.0.4 patch, available from:

    Hi Bruce,

How will this affect stores that have already had a snapshot imported? For instance I have a "template" store that I use to create all the other stores that I sell. How would I fix the problem with those stores considering I no longer use the "template" snapshot? They each now have their own snapshot after I have finished all the customization the customer required.

    Thanks

      Hi there

The 7.0.4 fix is onlyr for importing a snapshot. This will not affect anything to do with people who have already imported a snapshot, then installed this patch.

On the download page, it says 'Please note it is only recommended that a site is upgraded to v7.0.4 if the following issue has been experienced' - due to recent problems had to do a fresh install of 7 - and then upgrade - I read the line above, but there is no copy of 7.0.3 for UK users - so had to choose 7.0.4 which was not recommended.

Not sure why it is not recommended - but you might like to reword that or make 7.0.3 available for Uk download

There is only one fix in v7.0.4, so unless you are affected by that issue the upgrade is of no particular benefit. If you are having to reinstall the software anyway, there is no special reason to stay on v7.0.3. But otherwise we work on the principle, 'if it's not broken, don't fix it'.

You have insufficient access rights to the registry...

            Hi Bruce,

            Can you explain this?

I upgraded v5 to v7.0.1 a few weeks ago and there was no problem.
But when I upgrade v7.0.1 to v7.0.4, when I try to launch the new version I have the following message :

"You have insufficient access rights to the registry. Please use the application with a user account which is a member of either the Administrators or Power Users group".

            ??????

            Thanks for any idea!

              Hi Matt

Sorry - I've no idea. You'll have to contact tech. support on that one. You should have got telephone support along with the upgrade, so you can call them on 0845 129 4888. If you prefer you can register a support query online at http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm

With the release of the new version 7.04 - is it now possible to have other HTML files in the Site1 folder apart from the act_ files.

Before this was causing a big problem in the last versions after importiing site snapshops.

I am just getting a lot of errors after backing up - asking for HTML files that where originally kept in the Site1 folder -

ie: (File ExportFiles.cpp, Line 582) - The file C:\Program Files\Actinic v7\Sites\USA\further_info_Home_Study_CHC.html was not found System error 2 - The system cannot find the file specified.

                Thanks
